Finnish Education best practices executed in Latin America

EduExcellence, a Finnish-based global education service provider, has executed a quality audit and certified the Forge Foundation “Tu mirada transforma”, an unique methodology created to train public school teachers to develop socio-emotional skills in their students.

The Forge Foundation, with more than 15 years of experience in Latin America, creates digital programs to develop social-emotional skills in vulnerable youth. The methodology is implemented directly through the Forge platforms, and also through the training of public school teachers so that they can develop these skills in their classrooms.

Based on the results obtained throughout all these years of work, a quality audit was carried out and it was confirmed that the methodology meets Finnish quality standards.

The goal of the quality audit was to enrich the foundation’s current training programmes to empower teacher as agents of social change.

In the first phase of the development programme, EduExcellence offered a series of webinars to directors and pedagogy experts in Forge Foundation. In the second phase, the development continued with the auditing of Forge Foundation’s pedagogical model and way of working in their teacher training programme. The programme concentrates on professors capabilities to better support their students with socio-emotional challenges.

Rodrigo Kon, CEO of Forge Foundation, states the following:

“The Finnish educational model is recognized around the world for its excellence. For us it is a very important achievement to have obtained their certification on our pedagogical program. We are a Foundation that seeks excellence, innovation and continuous improvement. We are very proud of this accomplished goal and we will continue to strengthen the link between the two organizations”.

Jan-Markus Holm, CEO (Interim) of EduExcellence. says:

“We executed several in-depth qualitative interviews per country by our learning experts to gain true insights of the current status and development areas of the programme. We found out that Forge Foundation’s programme is very well executed with high quality, interactive online content and actively moderated community of practice. The programme really delivers on the promise of the transformation of teachers’ socio-emotional capabilities. Naturally, in the name of continuous development, we gave some recommendations on further strengthening the continuity of the community of practice, strengthening the presence in rural areas and overall measurement of the impact over time. In this way, Forge Foundation will have an ever-increasing impact on the opportunities of the youth in Latin America”
